Sculptra is used for the correction of volume loss, wrinkles, and folds in the face. It works by stimulating the production of collagen in the skin. Unlike some other dermal fillers, Sculptra provides gradual results. The effects become noticeable over several weeks to months as collagen production increases. Sculptra typically requires a series of treatment sessions, usually spaced a few weeks apart. The exact number of sessions needed depends on individual goals and the extent of correction required. The results of Sculptra can last up to two years or more, making it one of the longer-lasting treatments for facial rejuvenation.
Sculptra is a brand name for a type of injectable cosmetic treatment that is primarily used for facial rejuvenation. It is made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which is a biocompatible and biodegradable synthetic material. Sculptra is designed to stimulate collagen production in the skin, which helps to restore volume, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, and improve overall skin texture.
When Sculptra is injected into the skin, it works by gradually stimulating the body's natural collagen production process. Over time, the newly produced collagen fills in wrinkles and adds volume to areas of the face that have lost elasticity and fullness. The treatment is typically administered over a series of sessions, with results becoming more noticeable as collagen production increases.
Sculptra is often used to address concerns such as deep facial wrinkles, nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines, and loss of facial volume. It is primarily used in the mid-face and cheek areas but can also be used in other parts of the face and body, such as the temples or buttocks, for a lifting effect.
It's important to note that Sculptra is a medical procedure and should only be performed by a qualified healthcare professional with expertise in cosmetic injections. The specific treatment plan and number of sessions required will vary depending on individual needs and goals. Potential side effects may include temporary redness, swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site, but these typically resolve on their own.

Sculptra® is made of poly-L-lactic acid, which helps stimulate collagen production under the skin, in the dermis. As this product integrates into your tissue, you will be left with a fuller, smoother appearance. To learn more, book a consultation with Grace + Beauty in Westlake or Lakewood, Ohio.
It is important to be patient when using Sculptra. You will definitely see an increase in volume because of water retention. This will subside after a few days. It may take a few weeks to a couple of months for the product to start building collagen and be noticeable to you. It is completely normal to feel sore in the area for a few days afterwards. It is extremely important to follow the 5-5-5 rule; massage the area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days to avoid any collagen bumps and to help disperse the product. Collagen bumps are hard to get rid of after they appear. Multiple treatments are recommended.
